Jessi has returned with “Gucci” as the title song for her comeback. I haven’t read the English translation yet, but from what I’ve gotten so far the song is about Jessi just being Jessi. In a nutshell she doesn’t care what anyone thinks about her.
Now I’m not sure what content she’s using the word Gucci, but knowing her Jessi’s using it as she’s doing fine, and as she’s of high quality. During the song Jessi confidently says she “does not give a F-U-C-K”; I’m glad because I don’t like the song. The song sounds basic, and doesn’t seem fresh. Maybe this type of sound isn’t being played in Korea. If that’s the case then I genuinely applaud her for not promoting a radio-friendly song just to appeal to the masses.

The song feels as if she’s trying to push her image too hard. I feel like Jessi is a very well-rounded entertainer, but she hasn’t found the right way to truly capture who she is. In the end I was left disappointed. Unless I find a song that I like on the album this comeback will be forgotten in a few days. Best of luck to Jessi for this comeback, but as of now, I think I’ll just quietly back out from it.
