The final two have arrived

Check out Chen’s video teaser

All right with the last two teasers out, and D-Day right around the corner let’s talk about Chen and D.O.

As I speculated Chen was the next teaser released. I think this might be one of my fave teasers from all the rest because of the music. I’ve said numerous times that the music for this album sounds good, but the one heard in this teaser might end up being my favorite on the album. Chen is seen rocking a pinstripe blazer, and looking oh so good in it also.  I’m a fan of the classics, so in my opinion a blazer can really bring a look together. I did notice that for all of Chen solo shots in the teaser he appeared spaced out or in his own world. Is that a plot bunny running about that I smell. Besides briefly seeing Kai and his locs(which look even worse somehow), and Baekhyun with his mullet I was still able to jam out to the teaser.

Check out D.O’s video teaser

As I said above I could jam out to Chen’s teaser while in D.O’s teaser I wanted to do slow body rolls. The repetitive “do it” that can be heard being crooned will definitely be something that I sing to the family dog whenever I give him an order. D.O’s look in the teaser gave me a Mad Hatter vibe with his eccentric patterned blazers, but his clothes were the only interesting thing. Although there were group shots as well as solo shots of D.O looking straight into camera, the teaser was boring. While watching the teaser I felt that D.O didn’t look very natural. It was like him looking how he imagined a certain emotion should look like. He also looked bored in the running sequence and his look of happiness looked faked. In my mind he’s thinking “how much longer do I have to run”. The teaser isn’t as boring as Suho’s, but it’s lack of feeling does disappointment.

All right everyone all the teasers are out, and the hours ticking until the official release of EXO’s fourth album The War, and the MV release for the song “KoKoBop”. Get ready. Go back and watch the teasers, make sure you have YouTube access,  memorize all the lyrics from the teasers. EXO is coming back, and they’re coming to dominate.

Xiumin in your area

If you’ve been following this blog then you know I’ve been covering the teasers front EXO’s fourth album, The War. Today though, I was a bit shaken. Due to work I couldn’t watch the teaser until 11:47 am. I check my YouTube subscriptions only to not see an EXO teaser. Okaaay, so I go to the official SMTOWN YouTube channel and check there. Nothing. At this point I’m confused. Is there no teaser today? About 15 minutes later I check my YouTube subscriptions and see the teaser waiting for me. SM has officially put my excited nerves at ease for a bit by releasing Xiumin’s teaser.

Xiumin is a member with distinct features that leave an impression. From his catlike eyes, to him being the only member with mono lids he’s definitely not a face you can forget amongst the members.  Not to mention he started that whole phase of EXO getting fit and ripped with his impressive arm muscles and killer abs. Physical features aside Xiumin looks 100% great. The clothes he wore didn’t have multiple bright colors, but instead focused on a single color with a few accent colors in the outfit. This coupled with his slick back to basics black hair worked beautifully. Sometimes having simple black hair is the way to go, it allows a person to stand out naturally when surrounded by high pigment colors.  Then again that gaze Xiumin gives at the end of the teaser was enough to make him stand out without help from anything else.

Check out Xiumin’s music video teaser

The music, the music, the music! It’s a Xiumin teaser, but D.O’s vocals can be heard. Yet again D.O perfectly delivers, leaving me with no complaints. As the song shifts listeners are greeted with a new, very easily recognize voice. It’s a voice belonging to non other than Chen. Despite the teaser being only 25 second and most of the singing being done by Xiumin we were still able to hear one of Chen’s honey high notes.  Expectations for the music have just went up again, I really hope I’m not disappointed once the album drops.

With just two members left, DO and Chen, you don’t have to rack your brain thinking who’s next. Since Chen’s voice was heard last in today’s teaser I think his will be tomorrow, leaving DO as the last member. Alright, six down and two more teasers to go before The War is released. All of the teasers have peaked my interest in some way, so let’s see what tricks SM has left to pull.

It runs in the family

Yesterday a new teaser for EXO’s fourth album dropped. The teaser’s focus was on maknae Sehun. From each teaser is a snippet of a song off the album. Based off each teaser I can tell that this will be an album without any skips.

Take a look at the new teaser

Sehun looks good, even with all of those added tattoos. I feel like those tattoos were added to show that he has an edge to himself now that he’s an adult. Those tattoos were supposed to be glaring proof that he is to no longer to be looked at in a childish way. I think majority of us can agree that those tattoos were not needed . We have seen just how much Sehun has grown throughout the years, and no fake tattoos could ever represent how much of an adult Sehun has become. Growing up is inevitable, but Sehun has entered adulthood smoothly, as seen by the force he has in his teaser.

If Sehun is the baby of the group, then leader Suho has definitely earned his nickname of mom. With that said I felt like his teaser was safe, or a bit bland. Besides his permed hair and his bright colored clothes nothing really stood out for me. There were a lot of cuts of him stirring a cup though. Maybe the action will be significant in the MV. For now I’ll just say this is a repetitive action that was used to fill majority of a 22 second teaser.  No hard feelings to Suho though, I’m sure he’ll bring life into all his parts on the album.

Who’s teaser will SM reveal next? For my sake I hope it’s my bias.

Chanyeol Sizzles in New Teaser

Oh, Chanyeol, or should I say Park Chanyeol to be more accurate.  At face value I have to say this teaser is all about visuals. Park Chanyeol, a resident member on the beagle line, is really showcasing his acting skills. From dramatic acts such as throwing things, slamming car doors, to gazing wistfully at a ball; to intense eye gazes while ruffling his hair, sitting against a pillar in what appears to be a car garage, and even laying flat on the ground, Chanyeol shows that it’s gonna be an intense ride.

Check out Chanyeol’s Teaser

As I was watching I was silently cheering about his appearance. Like we’ve seen in the other teasers Chanyeol is also donning a floral pattern shirt. His hair is what appears to be a variety of soft purple, blue, and pink. This could have turned out for the worst, but the colors  seamlessly blend together in a fluid array, nicely complimenting the bright colors in the his floral shirt. The confident look that Chanyeol had throughout the teaser really did leave no room for your eyes to wonder to someone else. Confidence, plus a great hairstyle is always a win. So far Chanyeol is the best styled out of all the teasers seen.

After watching the teaser I had to of course watch it again, and that’s when I processed who’s low pitch voice I was hearing. I immediately smiled when I realize that it was EXO’s youngest, Sehun. Let’s be honest Sehun does not get many lines EXO songs. With that said over the years he has improved, and not just in singing and dancing but also as a person. He’s gone from quiet more comfortable being himself and his group, as well as more comfortable in the limelight. We can only hope that Sehun’s part heard in the teaser is not the extent of his parts in the song, though knowing SM I wouldn’t be surprised.

Tomorrow brings another day, and at midnight KST it will bring another teaser. Who could it be? In honesty it doesn’t matter because each teaser brings us one more day closer to the official release.

EXO’s Journey to The War

July is one of the hottest months  of summer, and SM Entertainment is about to make it even hotter. Without time for rest after releasing Red Velvet’s Red Summer album. SM has marked the official comeback of EXO. Despite it previously being stated that Lay will not be present for promotions, I’m excited to see our boys as a group again.

Starting off the parade was Kai  with his teaser on July 9th.  The teaser did it’s job and got me excited and hyped for the full release. With what little music that was present coupled with clips from the MV the teaser gave me the feeling that something big is coming for the guys in the music video. With that said I was pleased, though I did raise an eyebrow and released a quick sigh at Kai’s Dreadlock hairstyle.  Cultural appropriation or not the hairstyle does not suit him. It’s like “Wolf” 2.0. “Chogi Why?”

SM said the next teaser would be revealed July 10 midnight KST and they delivered. This time we meet Baekhyun, and he brings along a 15 second soundbite of the song as well as what appears to be key choreography  points performed by the rest of EXO. The bright floral shirts that can be seen worn have my mind going back to the three new logo designs released for this come back. All of which have a flora design. The shirts also make me think of 1996’s Romeo+Juliet. I think EXO would fit in rather nicely with the Montagues. Just like Kai I have to comment on Baekhyun’s hair. They gave him a mullet, kkaep song~ Luckily it’s a removable one as was revealed on the recent V live that EXO has done. I can only hope that with other member’s teasers the hairstyles will get better, especially when it comes to my bias.

With only eight days until the release of EXO’s fourth album The War, these teasers are upping the hype and killing us with anticipation. Let’s hope with the release of the MV for “KoKoBop” on the 18th we’ll still be alive for their first comeback stage on M!Countdown, scheduled for July 20th.
